Privacy policy

Parlo helps you prepare for TCF Canada and TEF Canada. This page explains what we store, why, and how to have it deleted.

What we store

  • Your answers: the texts you write and the recordings of your spoken answers.
  • Your reports: estimated NCLC levels, corrections and the mistakes saved for review.
  • Your preferences: which test you take, your test date, target level and feedback language.
  • If you sign in: your email address, or the identifier Apple or Google gives us. You can use the app without signing in.
  • If you subscribe: which plan you have and until when. Payment details stay with Apple or Google; we never see your card.

Who processes it

  • OpenAI runs the live examiner and turns your spoken answers into text.
  • Anthropic scores your answers. It receives the task, the scoring guide, your answer and your feedback language, never your name or email.
  • DigitalOcean hosts our servers, database and recordings.
  • RevenueCat, Apple and Google handle subscriptions.
  • Resend delivers sign-in emails.
  • Sentry receives error reports (what failed and where, without your answers or email).
  • PostHog counts how people move through the app (for example "opened the plans"), with an anonymous identifier, no location and no profile. You can turn this off in Settings.

We don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

Voice recordings are deleted automatically after 30 days. Your texts, reports and preferences are kept while you use Parlo, so you can follow your progress. Deleting your account deletes all of them. Cost records are kept without any link to you.

Your choices

You can ask for a copy of your data or for its deletion at any time by writing to contact@shadowlabsai.com. Subscriptions are managed and cancelled in your Apple or Google account settings.
